Brugge
This is when I visited the fairytale city of Bruges. Brugge (or Bruges as it is known in French) was an amazing city. It seemed like it was drawn by someone who wanted to make a city look like a picture book. The roads are mostly cobbled and there are tasty chocolate shops everywhere - I caved in and bought some chocs - this travelling bear likes chocolate! There were also canals everywhere and the houses just grew out from the sides of the canals. I am not sure I would want to live in a house like that but they are good to look at.
If you travel North from Bruges, you eventually arrive at the seaside, where there is a town called Ostend. I had a short sit on the sand here, as the beach was very big - it was not very warm, however, and did not seem very suitable for swimming (not that I would ever get that wet on purpose, of course). It felt a bit like any seaside town in the UK and was a complete contrast to the picture book beauty of Bruges itself.

Here I am by a peaceful canal, I could see no other bears in sight but you can see some of the houses I talked about growing out of the water.

I sat for a while watching the world go by. Still no bears. It looks warm and sunny but it was actually quite cold. Lucky for me I have a lot of warm fur!

Wow. This is Sieghfried. He very kindly allowed me to sit on his head so I could feel more at one with my kin. In fact Sieghfried guarded the entrance to a Teddy bear orphanage.

This is Oostende. Somewhat similar to Southend but not as much fish and chips...
