Edinburgh
I went to the Scottish capital mainly for the festival but I stayed for the wiskey and battered mars bars! Edinburgh is the second biggest Scotland, after Glasgow but probably the most teddy bear friendly of the two. It dates from the 11th century and used to be a fort, there is a big castle on a hill which is used as a venue for the famous Tattoo (which was taking place when I was there). The city itself has a quirky, independent feel with loads of good coffee shops and pubs (a travelling bear needs his cup of coffee!) and I really liked it. The major downside is the weather - as you probably know, water and rain plays havoc with my fur so I spent most of my time avoiding the rain. It was also really cold. In August.
I made myself comfortable in window to shelter from the wind and rain. This window would have been used to fire arrows from, back in the day.
Can you see me? I'm exploring the ruins... Click on the photo to make it larger and see if you can work out where I am. These were very big ruins for such a small bear.
Ah, this is more like it! A nice mug of coffee to take my mind off the Scottish weather.. Notice the thistle next to me to prove that this is indeed, Scotland!
